Sunday | Liturgical Color: White

Readings: Acts 4:32-35 ยท 1 Jn 5:1-6 ยท Jn 20:19-31 (Lectionary 44)

The readings in brief: The Acts of the Apostles describes the first believers, of one heart and mind, who held everything in common. Saint John writes that whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is begotten by God, and that faith conquers the world. On the evening of Easter, the risen Jesus gives his disciples peace and the Holy Spirit; a week later Thomas confesses: my Lord and my God.

1.For the Church: that, sent as the Father sent the Son, she may carry the peace of the risen Christ and the forgiveness of sins to the whole world, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.For the nations: that the goods of the earth may be shared as the first believers shared theirs, so that no one is left in need, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For those who, like Thomas, cannot believe without seeing, and for those whose faith has been wounded: that the Lord may come to them through closed doors, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.For those who carry the marks of violence, illness or shame in their bodies: that they may find healing in the wounds of Christ, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.For ourselves on this Sunday of Divine Mercy: that we may trust in the mercy we have received and show it to others, and say with Thomas, โ€œMy Lord and my Godโ€, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For the newly baptized, and for all who will celebrate the sacrament of Reconciliation.Lord, hear our prayer.
That N. and all the faithful departed, who believed without seeing, may have life in the name of Jesus, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Option 2
1.For the Pope and all pastors, that the peace of the risen Christ may guide their leadership and renew their courage, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.For those who lead nations, that wisdom and courage may turn promises of peace into actions that protect the vulnerable, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For people lacking food, housing, or work, that shared resources and fair decisions may open a path toward stability, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.For those living with doubt, that the wounds and peace of the risen Jesus may help them find a home within the believing community, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
