Here are 7 Different sets of prayers of the faithful specifically for parents, and written following the instructions of the General instructions of the Roman Missal.

Prayers of the Faithful for Parents

OPTION #1:

  1. For the Church in her universal ministry of reconciliation, that she may effectively bring God’s mercy to all people, let us pray to the Lord.
  2. For government leaders, that they may enact policies to assist families and protect children, let us pray to the Lord.
  3. For parents facing financial difficulties, that they may find the resources needed to care for their children, let us pray to the Lord.
  4. For single parents, that they may receive support and encouragement in raising their children, let us pray to the Lord.
  5. For parents of children with special needs, that they may be blessed with patience, strength and hope, let us pray to the Lord.

OPTION #2:

  1. For the holy Catholic Church, that she may remain steadfast in proclaiming the Gospel and serving those in need, let us pray to the Lord.
  2. For expectant parents, that they may prepare joyfully for the gift of new life, let us pray to the Lord.
  3. For parents struggling with infertility, that they may find peace and fulfillment, let us pray to the Lord.
  4. For parents of adult children, that they may maintain loving relationships as their roles change, let us pray to the Lord.
