Prayers of the Faithful for THE ASSUMPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY
Option 1
1.That the Church may magnify the Lord with Mary's own voice, proclaiming with the Magnificat that He has looked on the lowliness of His servant and done great things for His people, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That leaders of nations may heed Mary's canticle: that God casts down the mighty from their thrones and lifts up the lowly, and build societies that reflect His justice, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For all who are poor, hungry, or overlooked, that Mary's Assumption may be their sign of hope—God fills the hungry with good things and remembers His promise of mercy, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may rise with haste, like Mary visiting Elizabeth, to bring Christ to those around us, and find in every encounter the joy that makes the heart leap with gladness, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.

Optional:For those who are grieving, that Mary assumed into glory may be their sign of resurrection and lasting hope.Lord, hear our prayer.
That N. and all who have died may share in Mary's glory, raised body and soul into the eternal presence of God, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Option 2
1.For Pope Leo XIV and all shepherds, that they may lead the Church in Mary's school of faith, teaching us to ponder God's word and magnify the Lord in all things, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That all who are powerful in this world may hear the Magnificat's challenge—God scatters the proud in their conceit—and govern with humility and compassion, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For women who carry new life and face fear or hardship, that they may be visited by God's grace as Mary visited Elizabeth, strengthened and filled with holy joy, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may live in the light of the Assumption: our bodies are temples of the Spirit, destined for glory, and called to share in Mary's eternal victory over sin and death, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish community may honor Mary's Assumption by embracing her Magnificat as our own—seeking God's justice, serving the poor, and living in joyful hope, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For a deeper Marian devotion in our community, that Mary may lead us to her Son.Lord, hear our prayer.
That N. and all who have died may, through Mary's intercession, be taken up into the joy of heaven where she reigns with Christ, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
