Prayers of the Faithful for the EIGHTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Option 1
1.That the Church may always be the place where the hungry are fed — with the Bread of Life in the Eucharist and with the Word of God that satisfies every longing, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That leaders of nations may hear the disciples' report of the hungry crowd and be moved to distribute what they have, rather than sending the poor away to fend for themselves, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For the hungry of our world — those who lack food, hope, or belonging — that Jesus who multiplied five loaves for five thousand may multiply the generosity of His people today, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may offer to Christ whatever we have — however small it seems — trusting that He can bless it, break it, and make it abundantly more than enough, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.For our parish, that we may never send the hungry away but find creative and faithful ways to share what we have with all who come to us in need, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.

Alternate Prayers of the Faithful for the EIGHTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Option 1
1.That the Church may proclaim with conviction: 'You give them something to eat' — and so be a community of active, inventive generosity that reflects Christ's own compassion for every hungry crowd, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That leaders of nations may look with compassion on the world's hungry rather than dismissing them, and muster the will to share the earth's abundance more justly, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For those who are spiritually hungry — drifting, searching, yearning for something they cannot name — that they may find in Christ the Bread that truly satisfies, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may not underestimate what we have to offer God: five loaves, two fish, a little time, a small donation — trusting that His blessing makes it enough and more than enough, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
