Prayers of the Faithful for Thursday, 13th Week in Ordinary Time
Option 1
1.That the Church may always speak with Christ's authority the words most needed by a wounded world: take courage — your sins are forgiven, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That world leaders may govern with the compassion of Christ who, seeing the paralysed man, first healed what no one else could see — the wound of sin and guilt, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For those paralysed by guilt, shame, or the weight of past failures, that they may hear Christ's word spoken to them personally: take courage — your sins are forgiven, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may bring our paralysed friends and neighbours to Christ — carrying them, if necessary — trusting that His authority can do what we cannot, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our local community, seeing the works of Christ among us, may glorify God who has given such authority to human beings — and may be moved to go and do likewise, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For our sick, bereaved, etc., special projects or events.Lord, hear our prayer.
That N. and all the faithful departed, forgiven and freed from the paralysis of sin, may now rise and walk in the fullness of eternal life, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Option 2
1.For Pope Leo XIV, that he may exercise in the Church the authority Christ gave to human beings — to forgive sins and restore life — always with courage and compassion, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That all peoples may know the God who heals soul and body together — who says both your sins are forgiven and rise and walk — and may turn to Him in their need, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For those who question whether God can truly forgive — who, like the scribes, struggle to believe anyone has this authority — that an encounter with Christ may convince them, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may be bearers of the paralysed to Christ — through intercessory prayer, the sacraments, and practical accompaniment — never losing faith in His power to heal, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.For our parish, that it may be a community astonished by God's mercy — where the sacrament of reconciliation is celebrated as the moment Christ says: rise, take up your mat and go home, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For a renewed appreciation of the sacrament of reconciliation as Christ's healing word spoken today.Lord, hear our prayer.
That N. and all who have died may hear Christ say: your sins are forgiven — rise — and enter the house of the Father who awaits them, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Pro Life Option
1.That the Church may speak to a culture paralysed by fear of new life the same word Christ spoke: take courage — and may she accompany with mercy all who are afraid, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That lawmakers may rise from the paralysis of political calculation and stand to defend the lives of those who cannot defend themselves — the unborn, the frail, the forgotten, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For women paralysed by fear of an unexpected pregnancy, that they may hear Christ's word: take courage — and find in our community the practical help that makes rising possible, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.For those who carry guilt from a past abortion, that they may receive Christ's healing word — your sins are forgiven — and experience the freedom to rise and walk in new life, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our local community may be astonished by the power of God's mercy and moved to glorify Him by caring for every vulnerable person He places before us, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For all who offer healing ministry to women and men wounded by abortion — that they may bring many to Christ's forgiving word.Lord, hear our prayer.
That N. and all innocent children who died before birth may rise in Christ who has authority over sin and death alike, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.

About Prayers of the Faithful
The Prayers of the Faithful, also known as bidding prayers or general intercessions, are an essential part of the Catholic Mass. These prayers allow the congregation to intercede for the needs of the Church, the world, those in authority, those oppressed by various needs, the local community, and the deceased.
Our daily prayers are carefully crafted according to the liturgical calendar, ensuring that each day's intercessions are appropriate for the specific celebration, whether it be a solemnity, feast, memorial, or ordinary day of the liturgical year.
