Option 1

1.For the Church, that when she finds herself rowing hard in the dark with the wind against her, she may recognise the Risen Christ approaching over the very waters that frighten her — and not be afraid, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That world leaders navigating storms of crisis and fear may hear the word the Risen Christ speaks to every troubled authority: it is I — do not be afraid — and find in that presence the steadiness they cannot manufacture themselves, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For all whose lives are on rough water this week — whose fear is real and the wind is genuine — that the Risen Christ may approach them in the dark and speak their name with the calm of one who walks on what they are sinking in, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may be willing to receive the Risen Christ into our boat — into our work, our family, our fear — and find that we arrive at the shore more quickly than we imagined, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.

1.For the Church, that she may not be discouraged when she labours against the wind and makes little headway — knowing that the Risen Christ comes at the darkest hour and that the shore is closer than it seems, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That those in authority may govern without paralysing fear — receiving the Easter word it is I, do not be afraid — and finding in it the courage to act justly even when the storm is loud, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For those who are afraid this week — afraid of illness, of loss, of failure, of the future — that the Risen Christ may walk toward them over the very surface of what terrifies them and say: it is I, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may practise recognising the voice of the Risen Christ in the dark — in prayer, in scripture, in the unexpected moment — so that when He comes we are ready to welcome Him aboard, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish community may keep rowing together through every difficulty of this Easter season, trusting that the destination is secure in the hands of the One who commands the wind and the sea, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
