Prayers of the Faithful for Wednesday of the 2nd Week of Easter
Option 1
1.For the Church, that she may never tire of proclaiming the most astonishing sentence ever spoken: God so loved the world — not a select part of it, not the worthy portion of it, but the whole world, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That those who govern may bring their works into the light — governing transparently and without hidden agendas — knowing that integrity flourishes in the open and corruption hides in the dark, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For those whose deeds cannot bear the light — whose shame or addiction or secret grief keeps them from coming forward — that they may hear: God did not send the Son to condemn the world but to save it, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may allow the Easter light to fall on whatever we are hiding — bringing it into the open before Christ who sees and does not condemn but heals, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish may be a community of light-bearers — where the truth is practised openly and where those living in darkness find a genuine welcome, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For our sick, bereaved, and all who have asked for our prayers.Lord, hear our prayer.
For N. and all the faithful departed, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Option 2
1.For the Church, that she may imitate the God who sent His Son not to condemn but to save — approaching every person with the presumption of love rather than the verdict of judgment, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That those in authority may govern without hidden darkness — whose public actions match their private lives — so that those they serve may trust what they are told, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For all those who prefer the darkness to the light — not with condemnation but with Easter patience — that the Risen Christ may attract them toward the warmth of His presence until they are ready to step into it, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may rest in the Easter assurance spoken today: whoever believes in the Son is not condemned — and carry that freedom into everything we do this week, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish may practise the truth openly — unashamed of its faith, transparent in its life — so that its works can bear the scrutiny of the light, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For a deeper Easter confidence in God's love for the whole world.Lord, hear our prayer.
For N. and all the faithful departed, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Pro Life Option
1.That the Church may proclaim: God so loved the world — and that world includes every unborn child in it — so that no human decision about a life's worth can override the love that precedes it, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That lawmakers may bring their legislation into the light — that laws permitting abortion cannot survive honest scrutiny of what they permit — and act on what the light reveals, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For women in crisis pregnancies who are making their decisions in secret and darkness, afraid to bring their situation into the light, that a trustworthy person may reach them before the decision is made, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may be unafraid to bring our convictions about the dignity of the unborn into the light of public conversation — not hiding what we believe in comfortable darkness, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish may be transparent and courageous in its pro-life witness — a community whose works can come to the light and be seen as done in God, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For all who bring the light of the Gospel to women in crisis pregnancies, that they may do so without judgment.Lord, hear our prayer.
For N. and all the faithful departed, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.

About Prayers of the Faithful
The Prayers of the Faithful, also known as bidding prayers or general intercessions, are an essential part of the Catholic Mass. These prayers allow the congregation to intercede for the needs of the Church, the world, those in authority, those oppressed by various needs, the local community, and the deceased.
Our daily prayers are carefully crafted according to the liturgical calendar, ensuring that each day's intercessions are appropriate for the specific celebration, whether it be a solemnity, feast, memorial, or ordinary day of the liturgical year.
