Prayers to Popular Saints: Teresa of Avila, Ignatius, George, Martin de Porres and More

Every saint is a friend in heaven who can pray for us. Below are prayers to eighteen much-loved saints, from St. Teresa of Avila and St. Ignatius of Loyola to St. George, St. Martin de Porres, St. Cecilia and the Santo Niño, each with the saint’s feast day, what he or she is invoked for, and a short prayer. Two are the saints’ own classic prayers; the others were written for this page. Where a saint has a full page of prayers on this site, it is linked in that saint’s section.

Let nothing disturb thee,
Let nothing affright thee.
All things are passing;
God only is changeless.
Patience gains all things.
Who hath God wanteth nothing —
Alone God sufficeth.
