Here are prayers of the faithful for this week (Monday August 5th – Sunday August 11th), and written following the instructions of the General instructions of the Roman Missal.

PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL THIS WEEK (August 5 – 11)
The sets of intentions in this post contain two optional intentions, labeled I and II. Intention I addresses a local, topical need for the living, while Intention II is for the deceased, with an option to add names if customary.
Monday – August 5, 2024
- For the Church, that she may boldly proclaim God’s truth even in the face of opposition, let us pray to the Lord.
- For world leaders, that they may govern with wisdom and justice, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those facing famine or food insecurity, that they may receive the nourishment they need, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those struggling with anxiety disorders, that they may find peace and healing in Christ, let us pray to the Lord.

II. That the Son of Man may grant his salvation to those who have died, especially [names], let us pray to the Lord.
OPTION #2:
- For the universal Church, that she may be a beacon of hope in a world of confusion, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those in public office, that they may serve with integrity and compassion, let us pray to the Lord.
- For the unemployed, that they may find meaningful work to support themselves and their families, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those suffering from depression, that they may experience the healing touch of Christ, let us pray to the Lord.

Tuesday – August 6, 2024 (Feast of the Transfiguration)
- For the Church, that she may radiate the glory of Christ to all nations, let us pray to the Lord.
- For world leaders, that they may be guided by divine wisdom in their decision-making, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those living in darkness, that they may see the light of Christ, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those struggling with addiction, that they may find freedom and healing in God’s love, let us pray to the Lord.
I. For our parish’s youth ministry, that young people may encounter Christ in a transformative way, let us pray to the Lord.
II. That the Son of Man may grant his salvation to those who have died, especially [names], let us pray to the Lord.
OPTION #2:
- For the holy Catholic Church, that she may be transfigured by God’s grace to better serve the world, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those in authority, that they may use their power to uplift the marginalized, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those facing trials, that they may be strengthened by the vision of Christ’s glory, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those battling mental illness, that they may find hope and healing in Christ, let us pray to the Lord.
I. For those preparing for the sacraments, that they may grow in faith and understanding, let us pray to the Lord.

Wednesday – August 7, 2024
- For the Church, that she may be an instrument of God’s everlasting love in the world, let us pray to the Lord.
- For nations torn by conflict, that they may find paths to peace and reconciliation, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those who feel abandoned or forgotten, that they may experience God’s faithful love, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those suffering from chronic pain, that they may find comfort and relief, let us pray to the Lord.

OPTION #2:
- For the Church universal, that she may effectively proclaim God’s saving love to all peoples, let us pray to the Lord.

- For those who have strayed from the faith, that they may return to God’s embrace, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those struggling with eating disorders, that they may find healing and self-acceptance, let us pray to the Lord.

Thursday – August 8, 2024
- For the Church, that she may be a living witness to God’s new covenant of love, let us pray to the Lord.
- For world leaders, that they may promote policies that respect human dignity, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those seeking to know God, that they may encounter Him in their hearts, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those battling cancer, that they may find strength and hope in Christ, let us pray to the Lord.

Friday – August 9, 2024

- For those struggling with addiction, that they may find strength to overcome their challenges, let us pray to the Lord.
- For our community, that we may have the courage to take up our cross and follow Christ, let us pray to the Lord.

Saturday – August 10, 2024 (Feast of St. Lawrence)

- For world leaders, that they may work to alleviate poverty and promote social justice, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those who are generous with their resources, that God may bless them abundantly, let us pray to the Lord.
- For our community, that we may grow in generosity and self-giving love, let us pray to the Lord.

OPTION #2:

- For farmers and agricultural workers, that their harvests may be bountiful, let us pray to the Lord.

- For world leaders, that they may work to ensure all people have access to basic necessities, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those who hunger physically or spiritually, that they may be satisfied by God’s abundance, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those battling eating disorders, that they may find healing and peace in Christ, let us pray to the Lord.

II. That the Son of Man may grant his salvation to those who have died, especially [names], let us pray to the Lord.
OPTION #2:

- For those who doubt or struggle with faith, that they may encounter Christ and believe, let us pray to the Lord.
