2.That world leaders may govern with an eye on what endures — on the God who is Lord of the living and the dead — and may build just societies that honour the dignity of every person, mortal and immortal, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For all who are struggling with grief, that they may hear Christ's words to the Sadducees as spoken also to them: the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is not the God of the dead but of the living — and those we mourn are alive to him, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.

2.That lawmakers may legislate in the light of the resurrection: if every person is destined for eternal life, then every person — at every stage of existence — deserves the full protection and dignity that this destiny demands, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For all who work to protect the elderly and dying from euthanasia and assisted suicide — that they may be sustained by the truth that God is Lord of the living, and that those who seem least valuable to the world are most precious to him, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That our pro-life witness may be grounded in resurrection faith — knowing that the lives we defend are destined not for annihilation but for the fullness of life with the God who raises the dead, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
