PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL THIS WEEK (July 29 – August 4)
The sets of intentions in this post contain two optional intentions, labeled I and II. Intention I addresses a local, topical need for the living, while Intention II is for the deceased, with an option to add names if customary.
Monday – July 29th, 2024
- For the Church, that she may be a beacon of hope and light in a world filled with darkness and uncertainty, let us pray to the Lord.
- For the leaders of our nations, that they may work towards justice and peace for all people, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those struggling with anxiety and depression, that they may find comfort and healing in the love of Christ, let us pray to the Lord.
- For the victims of addiction, that they may be freed from their bondage and find solace in the mercy of God, let us pray to the Lord.
I. For our local community, that we may be a source of support and strength for one another, let us pray to the Lord.
II. That the Son of Man may grant his salvation to those who have died, especially N., let us pray to the Lord
Option #2
- For the Church, that she may be united in her witness to the Gospel and be a source of inspiration for all people, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those who are unemployed or underemployed, that they may find meaningful work and be able to support themselves and their families, let us pray to the Lord.
- For the sick and the suffering, that they may be comforted by the presence of Christ and find healing in his love, let us pray to the Lord.
- For the homeless and the marginalized, that they may be treated with dignity and respect and find a place of belonging in our society, let us pray to the Lord.
I. For our young people, that they may be guided by the wisdom of the Holy Spirit and make choices that will lead them to a life of happiness and fulfillment, let us pray to the Lord.
II. That the Son of Man may grant his salvation to those who have died, especially N., let us pray to the Lord.
Tuesday – July 30th, 2024
- For the Church, that she may be a source of forgiveness and reconciliation in a world torn apart by conflict and division, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those struggling with mental health issues, that they may find peace and healing in the love of Christ, let us pray to the Lord.
- For the victims of human trafficking, that they may be freed from their bondage and find safety and protection in the care of God, let us pray to the Lord.
- For the elderly and the infirm, that they may be treated with dignity and respect and find comfort in the presence of Christ, let us pray to the Lord.
I. For our families, that they may be a source of love and support for one another and be a reflection of the love of God, let us pray to the Lord.
II. That the Son of Man may grant his salvation to those who have died, especially N., let us pray to the Lord.
Option #2:
- For the Church, that she may be a beacon of light in a world filled with darkness and uncertainty, let us pray to the Lord.
- For the leaders of our nations, that they may work towards justice and peace for all people, let us pray to the Lord.

- For the marginalized and the oppressed, that they may be treated with dignity and respect and find a place of belonging in our society, let us pray to the Lord.
I. For our sick, bereaved, and those facing personal challenges in our community, let us pray to the Lord.

- For those unjustly accused or persecuted, that they may find strength in God’s presence. Let us pray to the Lord.
- For our community, that we may be open to God’s word of challenge and conversion. Let us pray to the Lord.

Sunday – August 4th, 2024

- For those burdened by anxiety about the future, that they may find peace in God. Let us pray to the Lord.
- For our community, that we may grow in generosity towards those in need. Let us pray to the Lord.

- For those struggling with materialism, that they may find true wealth in God’s love. Let us pray to the Lord.
- For our parish, that we may be good stewards of the gifts God has given us. Let us pray to the Lord.
