Prayers of the faithful for Today

Here are prayers of the faithful for this week Monday September 30th – Sunday October 6th, and written following the instructions of the General instructions of the Roman Missal.

Monday – September 30th, 2024

  1. For the Church, that she may remain steadfast in faith amidst trials, let us pray to the Lord.
  2. For world leaders, that they may govern with wisdom and justice, let us pray to the Lord.
  3. For those facing loss and suffering, that they may find strength in God’s presence, let us pray to the Lord.
  4. For the grace to welcome Christ in the least among us, let us pray to the Lord.
  5. For unity among Christians, that we may work together in spreading the Gospel, let us pray to the Lord.
    I. For our sick, bereaved, etc., special projects or events, let us pray to the Lord.
    II. That the Son of Man may grant his salvation to those who have died, especially N., let us pray to the Lord.

OPTION #2:

  1. For the Pope and all clergy, that they may lead the Church with courage and compassion, let us pray to the Lord.
  2. For peace in regions torn by conflict, that violence may give way to dialogue, let us pray to the Lord.
  3. For the unemployed, that they may find meaningful work to support themselves and their families, let us pray to the Lord.
  4. For the grace to recognize Christ in those different from us, let us pray to the Lord.
  5. For families, that they may be strengthened in love and faith, let us pray to the Lord.

    II. That the Son of Man may welcome into his kingdom those who have died, especially N., let us pray to the Lord.

Tuesday – October 1st, 2024

  1. For the Church, that she may be a beacon of hope to those in despair, let us pray to the Lord.
  2. For nations experiencing unrest, that they may find paths to reconciliation and peace, let us pray to the Lord.
  3. For those burdened by grief, that they may find comfort in God’s loving presence, let us pray to the Lord.
  4. For the courage to face life’s challenges with faith and perseverance, let us pray to the Lord.
  5. For those who feel rejected, that they may experience God’s unconditional love, let us pray to the Lord.
    I. For those battling addiction, that they may find strength to overcome their struggles, let us pray to the Lord.
    II. That the Son of Man may embrace in his mercy those who have died, especially N., let us pray to the Lord.

OPTION #2:

  1. For the unity of the Church, that all may work together in spreading the Gospel, let us pray to the Lord.
  2. For lawmakers, that they may enact policies that protect the dignity of all people, let us pray to the Lord.
  3. For those facing difficult decisions, that they may be guided by the Holy Spirit, let us pray to the Lord.

Wednesday – October 2nd, 2024

  1. For the Church, that she may be guided by God’s angels in her mission of evangelization, let us pray to the Lord.
  2. For world leaders, that they may work towards justice and peace for all nations, let us pray to the Lord.
  3. For children, that they may grow in faith and be protected from harm, let us pray to the Lord.
  4. For the grace to become childlike in our trust in God, let us pray to the Lord.
  5. For those who feel lost, that they may find their way to God’s loving embrace, let us pray to the Lord.
    I. For those struggling with mental health issues, that they may find support and treatment, let us pray to the Lord.
    II. That the Son of Man may grant eternal rest to those who have died, especially N., let us pray to the Lord.

  6. For single parents, that they may receive the support and strength they need, let us pray to the Lord.
