Prayers of the faithful for Sunday May 26th, 2024 (The Most Holy Trinity) – #6 OPTIONS

Here are 6 Different sets of prayers of the faithful specifically for Sunday, May 26th, 2024 (The Most Holy Trinity), and written following the instructions of the General instructions of the Roman Missal.

The sets of intentions in this post contain two optional intentions, labeled A and B. Intention A addresses a local, topical need for the living, while Intention B is for the deceased, with an option to add names if customary.

OPTION #1

  1. For the holy Church of God, that all believers may be united in heart and mind, living as children of God, let us pray to the Lord.
  2. For public authorities and leaders of nations, that they may work to establish justice, uphold human dignity, and promote peace in the world, let us pray to the Lord.
  3. That those suffering from hunger, poverty, or oppression may find relief through our compassionate efforts, let us pray to the Lord.
  4. That we may open our hearts to the gift of the Holy Spirit, living as authentic disciples who bear witness to Christ, let us pray to the Lord.

B. That the eternal light of salvation may shine upon those who have died, especially N., let us pray to the Lord.

OPTION #2

  1. For the holy Catholic Church, made one by the communion of the Holy Trinity, that all Christians may be united in professing the true faith, let us pray to the Lord.
  2. That world leaders may be guided by wisdom to pursue the path of peace and human flourishing, let us pray to the Lord.
  3. That those burdened by suffering may experience the consoling presence of the three Divine Persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit, let us pray to the Lord.
  4. That we may glorify the triune God in our words and actions, living as his adopted children in Christ, let us pray to the Lord.

OPTION #3

  3. That the Lord may open our eyes to recognize his presence in the poor, the suffering, and the marginalized, let us pray to the Lord.
  4. That we may respond generously to the call of the Holy Spirit to make disciples of all nations, let us pray to the Lord.

  2. For wise and just leaders who respect the rights of all and strive for the integral development of peoples, let us pray to the Lord.
  3. That those afflicted by natural disasters, war, or violence may receive aid and experience the compassion of Christ, let us pray to the Lord.
  4. That we may bear courageous witness to the Gospel through lives of faith, hope and charity, let us pray to the Lord.

OPTION #5

  1. For the Church, that she may reflect the communion of the three Divine Persons, let us pray to the Lord.

  3. For the grace to see Christ in the poor, the imprisoned, the homeless, and all who suffer, let us pray to the Lord.
  4. That our community may be enlivened by the fire of God’s love to build up the Kingdom of justice, love and peace, let us pray to the Lord.

  1. For the holy Catholic Church, that she may be united in fidelity to the Pope and Bishops, let us pray to the Lord.

  3. For migrants and refugees seeking a better life, that they may find welcome, protection and assistance, let us pray to the Lord.
  4. That the Holy Spirit may inflame our hearts to be bold witnesses to the Gospel by lives of loving service, let us pray to the Lord.
