The sets of intentions in this post contain two optional intentions, labeled I and II. Intention I addresses a local, topical need for the living, while Intention II is for the deceased, with an option to add names if customary.
OPTION #1
- For the holy Church of God, that all believers may be one in heart and mind, let us pray to the Lord.
- For public authorities, that they may govern with humility and justice, resisting pride and giving grace to the lowly, let us pray to the Lord.
- That those burdened by poverty, hunger, or oppression may find relief through our compassionate efforts, let us pray to the Lord.
- That our parish community may draw near to God, purifying our hearts and mourning over the sins that keep us from Christ, let us pray to the Lord.

II. For the souls of the faithful departed, that they may rest in the peace of Christ, especially N. Let us pray to the lord
OPTION #2
- For the holy Church of God, that all believers may resist the passions that breed division and conflict, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those in authority, that they may promote justice and peace rather than enmity and selfish interests, let us pray to the Lord.
- That the poor, hungry and oppressed may experience the compassion of Christ through our care for them, let us pray to the Lord.
- For our parish community, that we may purify our hearts of sin and worldly desires through mourning and penance, let us pray to the Lord.

II. For the souls of the faithful departed, that they may rest in the peace of Christ, especially N. Let us pray to the lord
OPTION #3
- For the holy Church of God, that all its members may lay aside pride, envy and selfish ambition to serve the least among us, let us pray to the Lord.
- For civic leaders, that they may uphold justice, especially for the poor and marginalized, resisting conflicts rooted in greed, let us pray to the Lord.
- That those burdened by illness, grief or want may find relief and hope through works of Christian charity, let us pray to the Lord.
- That our parish family may repent of sins that divide us and joyfully rededicate ourselves to lives of humble service, let us pray to the Lord.

- That all those afflicted by hunger, violence, poverty or oppression may experience the peace and freedom Christ won for the humble, let us pray to the Lord.
- For our parish community, that turning from sins of envy, greed and lust, our hearts may be purified to receive Christ’s grace, let us pray to the Lord.

- For leaders of nations, that they may uphold justice with humility, avoiding conflicts rooted in pride and greed, let us pray to the Lord.
- That the poor, persecuted and grieving may know the compassion of Christ through the humble service of his Church, let us pray to the Lord.
- For our parish family, that mourning our sins, we may be purified to receive the grace promised to the humble, let us pray to the Lord.
