Seminarian Giuseppe here! I have taken my time to write 5 prayers of the faithful you can use during Ordinary Time. I hope this saves you some time. I did this many so there can be something that perfectly resonates with you. I should also let you know that these prayers of the faithful were crafted following the instructions of the General Instructions of the Roman Missal. Prayers of the Faithful for Ordinary time 1

OPTION #1

  1. Lector: “For the Church throughout the world: that guided by the Holy Spirit, our leaders and all members may be a light to the nations and a beacon of hope and unity. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”
  2. Lector: “For national and local government leaders: that they may serve justly, promoting peace and the common good, especially in areas of conflict and distress. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”
  3. Lector: “For those suffering from mental illness and their families: that they may receive the support and care they need, and find strength in their communities. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”
  4. Lector: “For our parish: that we may grow in faith and love, fostering a spirit of service and fellowship among all members. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”
  5. Lector: “For the safety and well-being of those who serve in armed forces and their families: that they may be protected in their service and return home safely. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”
  6. Lector: “For all our beloved dead, especially those we remember in silence: that they may enjoy perfect peace and the fullness of eternal life with God. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”

OPTION #2

  1. Lector: “For the universal Church: that we may embrace our mission to evangelize, showing the face of Christ to the world through our actions and words. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”
  2. Lector: “For leaders around the world: that their policies promote economic fairness, respect for human dignity, and the cessation of violence. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”
  3. Lector: “For all those affected by natural disasters: that they find safety, aid, and comfort in their recovery efforts. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”
  4. Lector: “For our parish community: that we may be instruments of peace and reconciliation in our homes and workplaces. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”
  5. Lector: “For the sick and homebound in our community: that they may know the healing and comforting presence of God through our care and concern. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”

OPTION #3

  1. Lector: “For the Church, that we may continue to provide hope and spiritual strength to all members, helping them to live out their faith courageously. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”
  2. Lector: “For peace in our world, that conflicts may be resolved through dialogue and mutual respect, and for the protection of all who live in war-torn areas. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”
  3. Lector: “For those who suffer from addiction, and for their families: that they may find hope in their struggle and support from their communities. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”
  4. Lector: “For our local community: that we may work together to support those in need, showing the love of Christ in every action. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”
  5. Lector: “For all healthcare workers: that they may be sustained and supported as they provide care and comfort to the sick. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”
  6. Lector: “For all who have died, especially those from our community who have passed away recently: that they may rest in the peace of Christ. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”

OPTION #4

  1. Lector: “For the Church: that it may always serve as a beacon of God’s love and mercy, especially to those who feel forgotten or marginalized. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”
  2. Lector: “For our community leaders: that they may govern with integrity and prioritize the needs of the most vulnerable among us. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”
  3. Lector: “For the elderly and homebound: that we remember and value their presence in our community, providing support and companionship. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”
  4. Lector: “For students and educators: that this academic year may be fruitful, and filled with opportunities for learning and growth. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”
  5. Lector: “For the unemployed and those seeking work: that they may find employment and receive just wages to support themselves and their families. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”
  6. Lector: “For the faithful departed, and particularly for those in our parish who have recently passed away: that they may join the heavenly host in praising God forever. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”

OPTION #5

  2. Lector: “For nations at war: that leaders may find peaceful solutions to conflict and bring an end to suffering and bloodshed. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”
  3. Lector: “For victims of violence and abuse: that they may find strength and healing, and that justice may be served for them. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”
  4. Lector: “For our parish community: that we may continue to grow in faith and love, supporting one another in our spiritual journeys. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”
  5. Lector: “For farmers and those who produce our food: that they may be blessed with favorable weather and abundant harvests. Let us pray to the Lord.” All: “Lord, hear our prayer.”
