Prayers of the faithful for Faith
The sets of intentions in this post contain two optional intentions, labeled I and II. Intention I addresses a local, topical need for the living, while Intention II is for the deceased, with an option to add names if customary.
OPTION #1
- For the Church in her universal ministry of mercy and forgiveness, let us pray to the Lord.
- For catechumens and those seeking to deepen their faith, that they may be open to God’s grace, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those struggling with doubt, that they may find strength and renewal in the witness of faithful Christians, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those who have abandoned their faith, that they may experience God’s loving invitation to return, let us pray to the Lord.
- For our parish community, that we may grow stronger in faith through our worship and service, let us pray to the Lord.
I. For the sick and suffering in our parish, that their faith may bring them comfort and healing, let us pray to the Lord.
II. For those who have died, especially N., that they may be welcomed into the fullness of faith in God’s presence, let us pray to the Lord.
OPTION #2
- For the Church under persecution, that the faith and sacraments may hold the people together, let us pray to the Lord.
- For world leaders, that faith may inspire them to work for justice and peace, let us pray to the Lord.
- For young people, that they may discover the joy of a life lived in faith, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those persecuted for their faith, that they may find strength in Christ’s example, let us pray to the Lord.
- For our parish, that we may be living witnesses of faith in our daily lives, let us pray to the Lord.

II. For all the members of our community who have died, especially N. Let us pray to the lord
OPTION #3
- For the universal Church, that she may courageously proclaim the Gospel in word and deed, let us pray to the Lord.
- For religious leaders of all faiths, that they may promote mutual understanding and respect, let us pray to the Lord.
- For scientists and researchers, that faith may guide their pursuit of knowledge and truth, let us pray to the Lord.
- For artists and musicians, that their work may inspire faith in those who encounter it, let us pray to the Lord.
- For parents and godparents, that they may be strong models of faith for children, let us pray to the Lord.

- For those preparing for the sacraments, that their faith may deepen through this time of preparation, let us pray to the Lord.
- For missionaries, that their faith may inspire others to embrace the Gospel, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those who doubt or struggle with faith, that they may encounter Christ through the witness of believers, let us pray to the Lord.
- For our parish community, that we may grow in faith through our participation in the Eucharist, let us pray to the Lord.

OPTION #5

- For married couples, that their faith may strengthen their commitment to each other and to God, let us pray to the Lord.

- For teachers and catechists, that they may effectively pass on the treasures of our faith to future generations, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those who have lost loved ones, that their faith may comfort them in their grief, let us pray to the Lord.
I. For those in our community struggling with mental health issues, that their faith may be a source of strength and healing, let us pray to the Lord.
II. For the faithful departed, especially N., that they may enter into the fullness of faith in God’s eternal presence, let us pray to the Lord.
