The Solemnity of All Saints on November 1 honors every saint in heaven, the canonized and the countless unknown men, women and children who now see God face to face. In 2026 November 1 falls on a Sunday, and the solemnity replaces the Sunday in Ordinary Time, so these intercessions are used at every Mass of the weekend. Below are five complete sets of Prayers of the Faithful for All Saints Day, written to echo the readings of the day: the great multitude from every nation (Revelation 7), “we shall be like him” (1 John 3), and the Beatitudes (Matthew 5).
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.
How to use these intercessions
The priest introduces the Universal Prayer and says the closing prayer; a deacon, cantor or reader announces the intentions, and the people respond (GIRM 69–71). The intentions follow the usual order: the Church, the world and those who govern, people in need, and the local community, ending with the faithful departed, who are remembered the next day, All Souls.
- The readings are the same every year, so these sets can be used in any year.
- In the United States All Saints is a holy day of obligation; when it falls on a Saturday or Monday the obligation is lifted, but in 2026 it falls on Sunday.
- Add the names of your parish’s patron saint and of local saints and blesseds.
Set 1: For the parish Mass
Priest: United with the whole company of heaven, let us bring our prayers to God, who calls us all to be saints.
- For the Church throughout the world, that inspired by the example of the saints she may grow in holiness and faithfully proclaim the Gospel, let us pray to the Lord.
- For the Pope, our bishop and all the clergy, that like the holy shepherds who went before them, they may lead God’s people with humility and love, let us pray to the Lord.
- For the leaders of nations, that they may work for justice and peace and protect the dignity of every person, let us pray to the Lord.
- For the poor, the persecuted and all who suffer, that the saints who once suffered on earth may intercede for them, and that we may come to their help, let us pray to the Lord.
- For our parish, that following the saints we may answer the call to holiness in our families, our work and our everyday lives, let us pray to the Lord.
- For all the faithful departed, especially those we remember this weekend, that they may join the saints in the glory of heaven, let us pray to the Lord.
Priest: Father of all holiness, today we rejoice with your saints in heaven. Hear the prayers we bring you with them, and lead us one day to share their joy. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Set 2: Inspired by the Beatitudes
Priest: Jesus called blessed the poor in spirit, the meek and the merciful. Let us pray that we may live the Beatitudes as the saints did.
- For the poor in spirit, that they may know the kingdom of heaven is theirs, and for the Church, that she may be poor and humble like her Lord, let us pray to the Lord.
- For all who mourn the death of someone they love, that they may be comforted by the hope of the communion of saints, let us pray to the Lord.
- For those who hunger and thirst for justice, that their longing may be satisfied, and for those who are persecuted for the sake of justice, let us pray to the Lord.
- For peacemakers in our world, our families and our parish, that they may be called children of God, let us pray to the Lord.
- For the clean of heart and for all of us here, that we may grow in mercy and one day see God, let us pray to the Lord.
- For our beloved dead, that they may rejoice and be glad in the great reward of heaven, let us pray to the Lord.
Priest: Lord Jesus, you showed us the way of happiness in the Beatitudes. Hear our prayers, and help us to follow you with the saints. You live and reign for ever and ever. Amen.
Set 3: For a Catholic school Mass

- For the Church, that she may help every young person to discover the saint God calls them to be, let us pray to the Lord.
- For our teachers and staff, that like St. John Baptist de la Salle and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton they may teach with patience and love, let us pray to the Lord.
- For our students, that they may follow the saints in kindness, courage and honesty, let us pray to the Lord.
