14TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
ยทSundayLiturgical Color: Green
Prayers of the Faithful for the 14TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Option 1
1.That the Church may not soften Christ's hard words but proclaim them fully: He came not to bring peace at any price, but the sword of a truth that divides even what is closest to us, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That world leaders may govern in the light of a truth that sometimes divides โ knowing that real peace cannot be built on silence or compromise with injustice, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For those who have paid a price in family or friendship for their faith in Christ, that they may find in His promise the consolation they need: whoever loses his life for my sake will find it, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may take up our cross without bargaining, love Christ more than our dearest relationships, and trust that losing what we cannot keep is the only way to find what we cannot lose, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our local community may be one where even the smallest act โ a cup of cold water given in Christ's name โ is honoured and celebrated, for it will surely not lose its reward, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For our sick, bereaved, etc., special projects or events.Lord, hear our prayer.
That N. and all the faithful departed who chose Christ above every earthly bond may now find the life they gave away waiting for them in Him, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.

Option 2
1.For Pope Leo XIV, that he may lead the Church without fear of the division Christ's word inevitably causes, trusting that truth spoken in love eventually heals the very wounds it first opens, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That all peoples may discover the paradox Christ teaches: that the life clung to is lost, and the life surrendered for love is the only life worth having, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For those estranged from family because of their faith โ converts, reverts, those who left a harmful way of life โ that they may be sustained by Christ and welcomed by the community of the Church, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may grow in the radical love Christ demands โ a love that places Him above comfort, approval, and even family โ and discover that this love does not destroy but transfigures our bonds, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.For our parish, that it may be a community where every cup of cold water is treasured as a sacramental act, and where the smallest kindness is seen as a share in Christ's own mission, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For those who have sacrificed career, family acceptance, or security for the sake of the Gospel.Lord, hear our prayer.
That N. and all who have died may receive the reward promised to all who gave even a cup of cold water in Christ's name, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
