Friday of the 2nd Week of Easter

·FerialLiturgical Color: White

Prayers of the Faithful for Friday of the 2nd Week of Easter

Option 1
1.For the Church, that she may continue Christ's work of multiplying loaves — feeding the hungry, body and soul — trusting that what she brings, however small, will be more than enough in the Risen Lord's hands, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That leaders of nations may hear the question put to Philip — how are we to feed all these people? — and respond with the generosity and creativity the moment demands, rather than turning the crowd away, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For all who are hungry — for food, for dignity, for hope — that the Easter abundance of God may reach them through the hands of those He sends, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may bring what we have — our five loaves and two fish, however inadequate they seem — and place them in Christ's hands without waiting until we feel we have enough to offer, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish may be attentive to the fragments that others overlook — gathering up whatever is left, so that nothing and no one is wasted or forgotten in our community, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For our sick, bereaved, and all who have asked for our prayers.Lord, hear our prayer.
For N. and all the faithful departed, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Option 2
1.For the Church, that she may follow the Risen Christ who withdrew alone to the mountain rather than grasp earthly power — finding her strength in prayer rather than in influence, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That those in civil authority may ask honestly: what do we have? — acknowledging the limits of their resources and seeking the wisdom that multiplies small means into great good, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For those who are sitting on the grass in hunger and exhaustion, waiting for someone to notice them, that the Risen Christ may be their host this week — welcoming, nourishing, and sending them away filled, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may sit down in the Easter grass and receive what Christ offers — not striving to provide for ourselves but accepting the abundance He gives to those who stop and wait, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish may be a place of Easter overflow — where the twelve baskets of leftover grace are shared outward, beyond our own community, to all who are hungry in our neighbourhood, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For a spirit of Easter generosity and trust in God's abundance.Lord, hear our prayer.
For N. and all the faithful departed, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.

Saturday of the 2nd Week of Easter

·FerialLiturgical Color: White

Prayers of the Faithful for Saturday of the 2nd Week of Easter

Option 1
1.For the Church, that when she finds herself rowing hard in the dark with the wind against her, she may recognise the Risen Christ approaching over the very waters that frighten her — and not be afraid, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That world leaders navigating storms of crisis and fear may hear the word the Risen Christ speaks to every troubled authority: it is I — do not be afraid — and find in that presence the steadiness they cannot manufacture themselves, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For all whose lives are on rough water this week — whose fear is real and the wind is genuine — that the Risen Christ may approach them in the dark and speak their name with the calm of one who walks on what they are sinking in, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may be willing to receive the Risen Christ into our boat — into our work, our family, our fear — and find that we arrive at the shore more quickly than we imagined, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish may be the Easter boat — rowing together through difficulty, looking out for one another, and trusting that the One who walks on water is never far from where we are, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For our sick, bereaved, and all who have asked for our prayers.Lord, hear our prayer.
For N. and all the faithful departed, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Option 2
1.For the Church, that she may not be discouraged when she labours against the wind and makes little headway — knowing that the Risen Christ comes at the darkest hour and that the shore is closer than it seems, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That those in authority may govern without paralysing fear — receiving the Easter word it is I, do not be afraid — and finding in it the courage to act justly even when the storm is loud, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For those who are afraid this week — afraid of illness, of loss, of failure, of the future — that the Risen Christ may walk toward them over the very surface of what terrifies them and say: it is I, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may practise recognising the voice of the Risen Christ in the dark — in prayer, in scripture, in the unexpected moment — so that when He comes we are ready to welcome Him aboard, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish community may keep rowing together through every difficulty of this Easter season, trusting that the destination is secure in the hands of the One who commands the wind and the sea, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For all who are afraid, that the Easter presence of Christ may bring them peace.Lord, hear our prayer.
For N. and all the faithful departed, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.

3RD SUNDAY OF EASTER

SolemnityLiturgical Color: White

Prayers of the Faithful for 3RD SUNDAY OF EASTER

Option 1
1.For the Church, that the scene of Peter's threefold restoration may be her constant comfort — that Christ does not sideline those who have denied Him but commissions them to greater service, saying: feed my lambs, feed my sheep, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That world leaders may ask themselves with Peter's honesty: do I truly love those I serve more than my own position? — and let that answer govern every decision they face this week, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For those who believe their past failures have disqualified them from God's use, that the Risen Christ may ask them what He asked Peter — do you love me? — and receive the same answer: Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may answer Christ's question today not with a performance of devotion but with the truth of where we actually are — and trust that He will work with whatever we honestly offer, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish may take seriously the Easter commission: feed my lambs, feed my sheep — caring actively for those young in faith, those who wander, and those too weak to find their own way back, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For our sick, bereaved, and all who have asked for our prayers.Lord, hear our prayer.
For N. and all the faithful departed, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Option 2
1.For the Church, that the vision of all creation worshipping the slain and risen Lamb may never dim — and that her worship may overflow from a community that has truly seen what John saw in the book of Revelation, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That those who govern may act with the courage of the apostles who declared: we must obey God rather than men — letting conscience rather than pressure determine what they permit and what they refuse, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For those whose faith has been tested and found wanting, that this Easter season may be their moment of restoration — hearing not accusation but the question: do you love me? — and finding the courage to say yes again, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may be willing to follow the Risen Christ where we would not choose to go — stretching out our hands, accepting the costs of discipleship — knowing He goes before us, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish may be known in our neighbourhood as a community that feeds the lambs — the fragile, the newly baptised, the doubting, the poor — with the patience of the shepherd who knows every sheep by name, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For a spirit of Easter courage and perseverance in following the Risen Christ.Lord, hear our prayer.
For N. and all the faithful departed, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.

Monday of the 3rd Week of Easter

·FerialLiturgical Color: White

Prayers of the Faithful for Monday of the 3rd Week of Easter

Option 1
1.For the Church, that she may keep pointing beyond the bread that perishes to the food that endures to eternal life — not settling for what merely satisfies for a day — and keep placing Christ before those who come seeking her, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That world leaders may not give their people only the bread that perishes — prosperity, security, entertainment — but also attend to the deeper hungers for justice, truth, and meaning that no earthly policy alone can satisfy, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For those searching for Christ for the wrong reasons — seeking comfort or belonging more than truth — that the Risen Christ may gently redirect their seeking toward what will truly fill them, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may bring the Easter question to prayer this week: what must we do to perform the works of God? — and receive the Easter answer: believe in the One He has sent, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish may feed its people with the food that endures — scripture, sacrament, community, prayer — and not be content with activities that entertain without truly nourishing, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For our sick, bereaved, and all who have asked for our prayers.Lord, hear our prayer.
For N. and all the faithful departed, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Option 2
1.For the Church, that she may be honest about when she is sought for the wrong reasons — and redirect every seeker, with patience and love, toward the One who can fill the hunger that nothing else reaches, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That those who govern may not manipulate people's hunger for security — using comfort to distract from justice — but serve the whole person, body and soul, in every decision they make, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For those who labour for food that perishes — whose exhausting work yields only survival — that the Risen Christ may open before them a door into the life that is truly worth living, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may believe in the One whom God has sent — not as a duty but as the satisfaction of everything we have ever sought — and let that belief deepen through this whole Easter season, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish may be a community where the works of God are visible — faith active in love, welcome given without conditions, and care offered without calculation, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For a deeper hunger for the Bread of Life in this Easter season.Lord, hear our prayer.
For N. and all the faithful departed, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.

Saint Anselm, bishop and doctor of the Church

Optional MemorialLiturgical Color: White

Prayers of the Faithful for Saint Anselm, bishop and doctor of the Church

Option 1
1.For the Church, that in the spirit of Saint Anselm she may pursue faith seeking understanding — never afraid of hard questions, trusting that the God who is the Bread of Life can satisfy both the heart and the mind, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That world leaders may govern with the intellectual humility Anselm modelled — seeking to understand before deciding, letting reason serve truth rather than justify what has already been chosen, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For those who feel they must choose between faith and reason, that Saint Anselm's example may show them a path where rigorous thought and deep prayer belong together in the service of the one God, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may approach the claim of Christ — I am the bread of life — with both the full surrender of faith and the engaged pursuit of understanding, letting each deepen the other, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish may be a community where questions deepen faith rather than undermine it, and where the intellectual life is as welcome as the devotional life, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For our sick, bereaved, and all who have asked for our prayers.Lord, hear our prayer.
For N. and all the faithful departed, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Option 2
1.For the Church, that she may proclaim with the conviction of Saint Anselm and the certainty of Easter: it was not Moses who gave the true bread from heaven — it is the Father, and the bread He gives is His Son, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That civil authorities may not mistake giving people bread that perishes for the full measure of their duty — attending also to the spiritual, moral, and intellectual hungers that make us human, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For those whose deepest hunger remains unmet even after every earthly satisfaction — who have eaten their fill and still feel empty — that they may come to the One who promises: you shall never hunger, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may come to Christ the Bread of Life — not just for one Easter season but as the daily habit of a life shaped by belief in the One whom the Father has sent, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish may offer the world the only bread that truly nourishes — Christ present in Word and Sacrament — and do so with the theological clarity and pastoral warmth Saint Anselm embodied, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For all teachers of theology and philosophy in the Church, in the spirit of Saint Anselm.Lord, hear our prayer.
For N. and all the faithful departed, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.

Variations if Optional Memorial is not celebrated

Option 1
1.For the Church, that she may bring every hungry person to the One who is himself the answer to every hunger — I am the bread of life — proclaiming this in word and embodying it in works of mercy, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That world leaders may not satisfy themselves with giving people only the bread that perishes, but attend also to the hungers for justice, truth, and meaning that only God can fully fill, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For those who have demanded signs before believing — who cannot trust without proof — that the Risen Christ may meet their honest seeking and give them the bread of faith that surpasses every sign, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may come to the Bread of Life this week — in prayer, in scripture, in the Eucharist — and take seriously the promise: whoever comes to me shall never hunger, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish may be a Eucharistic community in the fullest sense — nourished at the altar and sent out as bread broken for the world, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For our sick, bereaved, and all who have asked for our prayers.Lord, hear our prayer.
For N. and all the faithful departed, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Option 2
1.For the Church, that she may correct the misunderstanding with Christ's own patience — it was not Moses but my Father who gives the true bread — pointing always beyond herself to the One who alone can satisfy, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That those who govern may provide for the bodily needs of their people without forgetting that human beings do not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For those who eat their fill of what the world provides and still rise hungry — who sense a deeper lack they cannot name — that the Risen Christ may name it for them and offer himself as the answer, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may believe in the One the Father has sent — not as one option among many but as the Bread without which every other nourishment is ultimately insufficient, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish may be known as a place where the true Bread is offered generously — in welcome, in prayer, in service — so that all who come away filled may return and bring others, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For a deeper hunger for Christ in Word and Sacrament this Easter season.Lord, hear our prayer.
For N. and all the faithful departed, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Pro Life Option
1.That the Church may bring every mother in need to the Bread of Life — the One who promises that whoever comes shall never hunger — and be herself that nourishment in practical support and unfailing presence, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That lawmakers may understand that laws permitting abortion are bread that perishes — they do not resolve the underlying hungers of poverty, isolation, and fear — and invest instead in what truly feeds mother and child, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For mothers in poverty who fear they cannot feed another child, that the Easter promise may reach them: whoever comes to me shall not hunger — and that real and practical provision may follow that promise through the hands of this community, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may become bread for others — giving time, money, and presence to mothers in need — as Christ gave himself as bread for the life of the world, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish may be Eucharistic in practice — the bread broken at the altar flowing outward into practical care for mothers and children in our neighbourhood, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For all who provide material support to mothers in need, that the Bread of Life may sustain both the giver and the receiver.Lord, hear our prayer.

·FerialLiturgical Color: White

Prayers of the Faithful for Wednesday of the 3rd Week of Easter

Option 1
1.For the Church, that she may live the promise of today's Gospel in her every practice — whoever comes to me I will never drive away — so that no one who approaches her finds a closed door or a cold welcome, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That world leaders may hear in Christ's words a standard for governance: do not drive away the refugee, the poor, the inconvenient — for the God of Easter drives away no one who comes, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For those who have been driven away — by the Church, by family, by community — and who no longer believe any door is open to them, that the Risen Christ's own promise may reach them: I will never drive you away, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may approach the Risen Christ with the confidence His words invite — not anxious about whether He will receive us, but certain that whoever comes, He never casts out, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish may be a community where no one is cast out — where the door is genuinely open and the welcome is genuine — so that our practice matches the promise of the Gospel we profess, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For our sick, bereaved, and all who have asked for our prayers.Lord, hear our prayer.
For N. and all the faithful departed, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Option 2
1.For the Church, that she may take to heart the will of the Father as Christ declared it: I should lose nothing of all that he has given me — and be as vigilant as the shepherd who notices the missing sheep, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That those in authority may not lose the vulnerable through negligence or indifference — knowing that every person in their care is given to them and that they will answer for each one, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For those who feel lost — who believe God has forgotten them or that they have slipped beyond His reach — that the Easter promise may find them: I shall lose nothing of all that the Father has given me, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may anchor our daily lives in the Easter certainty that the Risen Christ will raise us up on the last day — and live from that certainty with the freedom of those who know the ending is secure, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish may be attentive to those who are quietly slipping away — not letting busyness or assumption stand between a searching person and the welcome they need, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.

For N. and all the faithful departed, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.

Saint George, martyr / Saint Adalbert, bishop and martyr

Optional MemorialLiturgical Color: Red

Prayers of the Faithful for Saint George, martyr / Saint Adalbert, bishop and martyr

Option 1
1.For the Church, that the martyrdom of Saints George and Adalbert may remind her that the Easter faith is not a comfortable possession but a conviction worth dying for — and worth living for with the same totality, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That world leaders may protect the freedom of Christians and all religious minorities facing persecution today, honoring the witness of those who gave their lives rather than deny the truth, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For Christians suffering violence and discrimination for their faith in every part of the world, that the Easter victory of the martyrs may be their living hope in every moment of danger, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may ask ourselves the martyr's question in the safety of our daily lives: is my faith in the Risen Christ worth everything? — and let our answer shape how we actually live, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish may be a community of courageous witnesses — not yet called to martyrdom, but willing to be counted, to speak, and to act for what we believe, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For our sick, bereaved, and all who have asked for our prayers.Lord, hear our prayer.
For N. and all the faithful departed, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Option 2

2.That civil authorities may never suppress the freedom of those who preach and teach the Gospel, knowing that every silenced preacher has had a thousand successors in the history of the Church, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For missionaries and evangelists who work far from home in difficult conditions, that the Risen Christ who sent them may sustain them through every obstacle and opposition, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may draw from the Easter faith of the martyrs the courage to speak of Christ in the ordinary environments of our daily lives — at work, in our families, among our neighbours, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish may honour the legacy of the martyrs by being bold in its witness — unashamed of the Resurrection, and unafraid to be known as the community of the Risen Christ, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For all who face danger or persecution for their Christian faith today.Lord, hear our prayer.
For N. and all the faithful departed, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.

Variations if Optional Memorial is not celebrated

Option 1
1.For the Church, that she may be an instrument of the Father's drawing — creating the conditions in which people can hear God's voice and find themselves moving toward Christ without quite knowing why, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That those in authority may govern in ways that allow people to seek God freely — protecting the spaces of silence, community, and conscience where the Father's drawing can be heard, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For those who feel a pull toward faith they do not yet understand — who sense something drawing them but cannot name it — that they may follow that pull toward the One who is himself the living bread, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may receive the Easter promise with open hands today: whoever eats this bread will live forever — and come to the Eucharist not from habit but from hunger, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish may be a community shaped by the bread Christ gives — his flesh for the life of the world — generously offering that life to all who come near, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For our sick, bereaved, and all who have asked for our prayers.Lord, hear our prayer.
For N. and all the faithful departed, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.

2.That world leaders may not be satisfied with what perishes — policies and programmes that address the surface of human need — but attend also to the deeper hungers that the living bread alone can satisfy, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
3.For those who have heard and learned from the Father — who are being drawn toward Christ and toward the Church — that nothing may obstruct that drawing and that someone may be there to welcome them when they arrive, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
4.That we may come to the Eucharist this week as those who are truly hungry — who have tried everything that perishes and know it is not enough — and receive the living bread with gratitude, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish may live the Eucharist outward — the flesh given for the life of the world flowing through our community into practical care for the hungry, the lonely, and the lost, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For a deeper hunger for the Eucharist in our parish community.Lord, hear our prayer.
For N. and all the faithful departed, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Pro Life Option
1.That the Church may proclaim that the flesh Christ gives for the life of the world includes every unborn life — that the God who gives his body for us will not withhold his love from the smallest body in the womb, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
2.That lawmakers may be drawn by the Father toward the truth that every human life deserves legal protection — and may follow that drawing to legislation that reflects it, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.

4.That we may give ourselves as bread for mothers in need — our time, our resources, our presence — as Christ gave his flesh for the life of the world, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
5.That our parish may be nourished at the altar and sent out as living bread — practical, costly, generous — for the mothers and unborn children who need us in our neighbourhood, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
Optional:For all who provide food, shelter, and support to mothers and young families in need.Lord, hear our prayer.
For N. and all the faithful departed, let us pray to the Lord.Lord, hear our prayer.
