Prayers of the Faithful for Mothers
The sets of intentions in this post contain two optional intentions, labeled I and II. Intention I addresses a local, topical need for the living, while Intention II is for the deceased, with an option to add names if customary.
OPTION #1:
- For the Church, that she may continue to be a source of spiritual nourishment and guidance for all mothers, let us pray to the Lord.
- For mothers everywhere, that they may be blessed with patience, wisdom, and strength in raising their children, let us pray to the Lord.
- For expectant mothers, that they may be granted safe deliveries and healthy babies, let us pray to the Lord.
- For single mothers, that they may receive the support and assistance they need in their challenging role, let us pray to the Lord.
- For mothers who have lost children, that they may find comfort and peace in God’s love, let us pray to the Lord.

OPTION #2:
- That the Church may continue to honor and support the vocation of motherhood, let us pray to the Lord.
- For mothers who struggle with poverty, that they may be blessed with the resources to provide for their families, let us pray to the Lord.
- For adoptive and foster mothers, that their love and dedication may be rewarded with joy and fulfillment, let us pray to the Lord.
- For mothers facing difficult pregnancies, that they may choose life and find support in their communities, let us pray to the Lord.

- For grandmothers, that they may continue to be a source of wisdom and love for their families, let us pray to the Lord.
