Prayers of the faithful for Today

Here are prayers of the faithful for this week Monday February 24th – Sunday March 2nd 2025, and written following the instructions of the General instructions of the Roman Missal.

Monday – February 24th, 2025

  1. For the Church, that she may be guided by God’s wisdom in all her endeavors, let us pray to the Lord.
  2. For world leaders, that they may seek God’s counsel in their decision-making, promoting peace and justice, let us pray to the Lord.
  3. For those struggling with unbelief, that like the father in today’s Gospel, they may cry out, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”, let us pray to the Lord.
  4. For those suffering from addiction, that through prayer and support, they may find healing and freedom, let us pray to the Lord.
  5. For our community, that we may grow in faith and trust in God’s promises, let us pray to the Lord.

I. For those facing financial hardship due to inflation, that they may receive the support they need, let us pray to the Lord.

II. For those who have died, especially N., that they may be welcomed into the fullness of God’s presence, let us pray to the Lord.

OPTION #2:

  1. For the universal Church, that she may be a beacon of wisdom and understanding in a world of confusion, let us pray to the Lord.
  2. For government officials, that they may be filled with the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom, let us pray to the Lord.
  3. For those facing seemingly insurmountable challenges, that they may find strength in Christ who can do all things, let us pray to the Lord.
  4. For parents of children with special needs, that they may be blessed with patience, perseverance, and support, let us pray to the Lord.
  5. For our parish community, that we may grow in our ability to cast out the demons of division, prejudice, and indifference, let us pray to the Lord.

I. For those suffering from anxiety disorders, that they may find peace and healing through professional help and faith, let us pray to the Lord.

II. For the eternal rest of our departed brothers and sisters, especially N., that they may rejoice in the presence of God, let us pray to the Lord.

Tuesday – February 25th, 2025

  1. For the Church, that she may always cling to Christ and never depart from His teachings, let us pray to the Lord.
  2. For world leaders, that they may have the humility to serve rather than to be served, let us pray to the Lord.
  3. For those undergoing trials and difficulties, that they may trust in God’s mercy and find strength in their faith, let us pray to the Lord.
  4. For children, that they may be welcomed and protected in our society as Christ welcomed them, let us pray to the Lord.
  5. For our community, that we may strive to be last of all and servants of all, following Christ’s example, let us pray to the Lord.

I. For those struggling with unemployment, that they may find meaningful work and the means to support themselves and their families, let us pray to the Lord.

II. For those who have died, especially N., that they may be raised to eternal life by Christ who conquered death, let us pray to the Lord.

OPTION #2:

  1. For the holy Catholic Church, that she may be steadfast in times of calamity and persecution, let us pray to the Lord.
  2. For those in positions of authority, that they may use their power to serve the common good, let us pray to the Lord.
  3. For all who are suffering, that they may find hope in Christ’s promise of resurrection, let us pray to the Lord.
  4. For families, that they may create homes where children are nurtured in faith and love, let us pray to the Lord.
  5. For our parish, that we may grow in humility and service to one another, let us pray to the Lord.
  6. For those facing economic hardship due to the federal budget deficit, that just and compassionate solutions may be found, let us pray to the Lord.

I. For victims of gun violence, that they may find healing and that our society may work towards peaceful solutions, let us pray to the Lord.

II. For the faithful departed, especially N., that they may share in Christ’s victory over death, let us pray to the Lord.

Wednesday – February 26th, 2025

  1. For the Church, that she may continue to be a loving mother, teaching her children and helping those who seek wisdom, let us pray to the Lord.
  2. For world leaders, that they may govern with wisdom and understanding, seeking the good of all people, let us pray to the Lord.
  3. For those who feel excluded or marginalized, that they may find welcome and acceptance in our Christian communities, let us pray to the Lord.
  4. For all believers, that we may recognize and support the good works done in Christ’s name, even by those outside our immediate circles, let us pray to the Lord.
  5. For our community, that we may grow in wisdom and discernment, learning to distinguish good from evil, let us pray to the Lord.

I. For those struggling with depression, that they may find hope, healing, and support, let us pray to the Lord.

II. For those who have died, especially N., that they may inherit the glory promised to those who love wisdom, let us pray to the Lord.

  1. For the universal Church, that she may continue to minister to the Holy One by loving and serving all God’s children, let us pray to the Lord.
  2. For those in public office, that they may be filled with wisdom and understanding in their service to the nations, let us pray to the Lord.
  3. For those who are searching for meaning in life, that they may discover the joy of seeking God’s wisdom, let us pray to the Lord.
  4. For unity among all Christians, that we may work together in Christ’s name for the good of all, let us pray to the Lord.

I. For the success of our parish’s vocations ministry, that it may inspire and support those discerning a call to religious life or priesthood, let us pray to the Lord.

Thursday – February 27th, 2025

  1. For the Church, that she may always teach the way of true repentance and God’s merciful love, let us pray to the Lord.
  2. For world leaders, that they may not rely on dishonest wealth but seek justice and equity for all, let us pray to the Lord.
  3. For those who have wandered from the faith, that they may not delay in turning back to the Lord, let us pray to the Lord.
  4. For children and all vulnerable members of our society, that we may protect them from harm and never be a cause of stumbling for them, let us pray to the Lord.
  5. For our community, that we may be “salt of the earth,” preserving what is good and enhancing the flavor of life around us, let us pray to the Lord.

I. For those working to address climate change, that their efforts may be fruitful in preserving our common home, let us pray to the Lord.

II. For those who have died, especially N., that they may be spared from God’s wrath and experience His endless mercy, let us pray to the Lord.

  1. For the holy Catholic Church, that she may always be a faithful witness to God’s patience and forgiveness, let us pray to the Lord.

Friday – February 28th, 2025

  1. For the Church, that she may always be a faithful friend to all who seek God, let us pray to the Lord.
  2. For world leaders, that they may work to preserve the sanctity of marriage and family life, let us pray to the Lord.
  3. For the sick, that they may find healing through the care of physicians and the prayers of the faithful, let us pray to the Lord.
  4. For married couples experiencing difficulties, that they may find the grace to forgive and reconcile, let us pray to the Lord.
  5. For our community, that we may be compassionate visitors to the sick and comforters to those who mourn, let us pray to the Lord.

I. For those struggling with the rising costs of healthcare, that they may receive the care they need without financial burden, let us pray to the Lord.

II. For those who have died, especially N., that they may find in God a treasure beyond price, let us pray to the Lord.

  1. For the universal Church, that she may be a sturdy shelter and life-saving remedy for all who turn to her, let us pray to the Lord.

  2. For world leaders, that they may use their authority to protect the dignity of all human life from conception to natural death, let us pray to the Lord.
  3. For parents and educators, that they may help children grow in knowledge and understanding of God’s love, let us pray to the Lord.
  4. For those who feel unloved or unwelcome, that they may experience the embrace of Christ through our Christian community, let us pray to the Lord.
  5. For our parish, that we may receive the kingdom of God with the trusting faith of little children, let us pray to the Lord.

I. For those working to improve the quality of public education, that their efforts may bear fruit, let us pray to the Lord.

  3. For those who teach and guide others, that they may lead by example and speak with wisdom, let us pray to the Lord.
  4. For those who struggle with hypocrisy, that they may have the courage to examine their hearts and align their actions with their beliefs, let us pray to the Lord.
  5. For our parish community, that our speech may always build up and never tear down, let us pray to the Lord.
